All of our products are made with organic or wildcrafted ingredients. Many Ayurvedic herbs are imported from India, where we source from growers who provide organic herbs. Organic herbs from India were once difficult to obtain, but that has changed. Wildcrafted herbs can also be an excellent choice and, for some herbs, may be even better than cultivated ones.

Many suppliers test their finished products, but our testing process goes further. When imported single herbs arrive at port, our importer sends each herb for independent third-party heavy-metal testing. If an herb fails, that part of the shipment is rejected. Under our supplier terms, payment is not due for herbs that fail testing, and the supplier must replace them.
India introduced mandatory heavy-metal testing for exported herbal Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani medicines in 2006. We still believe it is essential to know your suppliers and verify the herbs in each shipment.

Every batch goes through our in-house quality-control process. Our staff pour out the herbs and examine them by sight, smell, touch, and taste, checking for freshness and signs of contamination. Fresh herbs should have the aroma, taste, and color we expect. If a batch does not meet our standards, we may return it to the importer and request a replacement. Maintaining these standards helps ensure that our importer supplies us with fresher batches instead of older herbs.
