Khabir's Ayurvedic Product Line
Traditional Ayurvedic churnas, formulated by an Ayurvedic doctor and pharmacist, refined over decades and tested in clinical practice with over 5,000 clients.
In modern times, it is rare to find an Ayurvedic doctor who formulates his own products. This is a pharmaceutical skill, and most doctors, whether in the North or the South, purchase premade products. Khabir makes his own.

गुरु परम्परा · The LineageTraining in Northern Ayurveda
Khabir studied in Northern India in the 1980s and 1990s. His teacher worked by mixing and preparing churnas only, with no teas, some vati, and expert use of bhasma, along with dietary guidelines. There was no Abhyanga and no traditional Panchakarma.
His teacher was well known in India for his skill in preparing Ayurvedic products, for treating complex health conditions, and for his expert diagnostic skills, especially pulse reading.
Private Practice
In his private clinic in Ojai, California, Khabir worked in the same manner, providing only Ayurvedic powders (churnas), not capsules, and very few vati. He treated every kind of health condition for over 5,000 clients who came to him daily.
The difference: Khabir spent considerable time on dietary guidelines for his clients and provided assessment forms. Even with expert pulse reading and observation skills like his teacher, Dr. Vikram Chauhan, he asked more questions, used a detailed intake form, and generally treated more holistically than most Indian doctors in the North.
Studying Southern Ayurveda
By 2017, Khabir moved his base to Kerala and began studying Southern herbal products. Not the massage, Abhyanga, or traditional Panchakarma, but the ghritas, thailams, arishtas, and vati, so he could integrate them into his practice.
Western Herbalist
Khabir has also studied Western herbalism since his teenage years, and now sells over 50 teas on Amazon and other marketplaces through his Western tea line, Herb Man Teas.
🌿 The Churna Formulas
चूर्ण · Original FormulationsKhabir has formulated about 150 Ayurvedic churnas based on traditional formulas, but not exact copies, which makes his product line unique.
He often offers three variations of a traditional formula, builds on a formula, or even uses formulas from other Ayurvedic doctors he met in Northern India. His formulas are also more specific to one dosha or another, rather than tridoshic like many of the original formulas.
Example: The Calming Formulas
For calming, Khabir uses very traditional herbal combinations based on the ancient texts, then makes variations: one for anxiety and anger, one just for anger and high Pitta, and one combined with brain and memory herbs.
Calming Formula
Mostly for Vata — anxiety, worry, and an ungrounded mind.
Calm & Cool Formula
For the person with both Vata and Pitta imbalance — anxiety together with heat and anger.
Cool Head Formula
For high Pitta — anger and irritability.
Calm & Clear Formula
Calming herbs combined with brain and memory herbs, with the traditional formula Saraswatarishta added.
Example: The Sleep Formulas
For sleep, Khabir uses traditional sleep herbs, then offers a cooling version for Pitta times and a stronger version — three sleep formulas in all.
Bhasma for potency: Khabir adds bhasma to many of his formulas, making them more potent and effective. We can say these are very sophisticated and unique products.
Taken the Traditional Way
Because Khabir makes his own churnas, he provides them in powder form along with guidelines on how to take them — for example, in milk, with aloe vera, or with honey (anupana). Each product describes who it is for and who it is not for.
🌴 Imported Products from Kerala
केरल · From South IndiaIn addition to his own churnas, Khabir imports products from the South — ghees, thailams, some arishtas, and vati — only from top-level producers like Arya Vaidya Sala Kottakkal and Vaidyaratnam. He adds these alongside his churnas to widen the scope of treatment.
Many of these imported products, from Kerala where Khabir has a second home, are not offered for sale on his other site, Herb Man Teas.

How to Recognize a Product's Tradition
- If you see a company selling a lot of capsules, this is not the traditional manner.
- If you see a company selling ghees, oils, arishtas, and lehyams, then you know they are from the South.
💊 About Capsules
रस · The Mouth Must Taste the HerbsFor years, Khabir never offered his products in capsules. This is not the traditional manner, and taking these churnas in capsules is not as effective — the mouth must taste the herbs.
In recent years, he offers the option to have his churnas — all made in the USA with herbs imported from India and tested in the USA — put into capsules. He does not recommend it or encourage it, but he allows it.
It should be understood that traditional Ayurveda, in the North or the South, does not provide churnas — the basis of treatment — in capsules. This option is only to accommodate the Western person.
Very Traditional, Uniquely Formulated
Khabir makes his own churnas, provides them in powder form with guidelines on how to take them, and describes who each one is for and who it is not for.
This makes the product line very unique and suitable for the Western mind and practitioner, even though the products are very traditional.
